SC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric SC Scholarship is as follows

 

Family Income:

 

# Pre Matric Scholarship to SC students read in Class IX-X
Eligibility: Annual Family income should not exceed Rs.2.50 Lakh.

# Post Matric Scholarship to SC students
Eligibility: Annual Family income should not exceed Rs.2.50 Lakh.

Caste: Student should belong to Scheduled Caste.

Extra Scholarship: He or she should not be eligible for any additional Centrally supported Pre-Matric Scholarships. However, beneficiaries of the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students may apply for the National Means-Merit Scholarship Scheme administered by the Department of School Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Aadhaar Enrollment: In pursuance to the provision of Section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act 2016, a student is required to furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar or undergo Aadhaar Authentication. If not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, student is required to make application for Aadhaar enrollment.
 

Student Category: She/he must be a full-time, regular student enrolled in a Government School or a School recognised by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.

 

Repeat/ Failing Student: Scholarships for any class will be offered for a period of one year. If a student is required to repeat a class, she or he will not be eligible for a scholarship for that class in the next (or subsequent) year.

The Importance of Assam SC Scholarships

The value of scholarship includes the following for complete duration of the course:-

(i) scholarship and other grant.
(ii) additional allowance for students with disabilities studying in private un-aided recognized Schools.
(iii) Additional Allowances for SC students with disabilities studying in private unaided Schools.

Duration & Renewal of Scholarship

# The scholarship will be renewable for a period of ten months during the academic year.

# Once granted, the award is conditional upon continued excellent behaviour and attendance. It will be renewed for Class X following the student's graduation from Class IX.

Selection of Candidates for SC Scholarship

(i) All eligible Scheduled Caste candidates will be given scholarships as prescribed in this Scheme.
(ii) Candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong and will submit their applications to the competent authority in that State.

How to Apply for Assam SC Scholarship ?

Interested and eligible students need to submit their online applications through National Scholarship Portal to complete their application process for this scholarship. Students are advised to go through the steps listed below before proceeding to apply online. Below, we have provided a list of steps required to complete the application process.

 

Fresh:
 

• Students must click on the "Student Login" option on the National Scholarships Portal's home page, www.scholarships.gov.in.
• Complete the application according to the system's instructions and then click the Save button. Following the save, the learner will receive a "Temporary ID."
• The system will prompt the applicant to enter his/her Temporary Identification Card and date of birth in order to complete the application.
• After submitting the registration form, a Permanent Registration ID is generated that can be used for Renewal and tracking the status of the application.

Renewal:
Renewal Students must apply using their Application ID and Date of Birth from the previous year's registration. Additionally, students can use the Forgot Application ID feature to regain their ID. Only those students who received scholarship funds from NSP 1.0 previous year will be eligible to Renew.
