The Indian Air Force has announced the opening of 317 vacancies in AFCAT (01/2022) for Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches, and NCC Special Entry for January 2023 Courses. Candidates that meet the above criteria may apply online here.

Eligibility Criteria of Indian Air Force Recruitment

 


Age Limit


(a) Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2023 i.e. born between 02 January 1999 to 01 January 2003 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 year i.e. born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2003 (both dates inclusive).

(b) Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years as on 01
January 2023 i.e. born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2023 (both dates inclusive).

 

Marital Status

Candidates under the age of 25 must be single at the time of the course's start. Widows/widowers and divorcees under the age of 25 (with or without encumbrances) are likewise ineligible. A applicant who marries after submitting his application, even if he passes the SSB or physical, will be ineligible for training. A candidate who marries during his or her period of training will be released and will be required to reimburse the Government for any expenses incurred on his behalf. Married applicants over the age of 25 are entitled to apply, but will not be supplied with married housing or be permitted to live with family during the training time.

Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and
(a) Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
 
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}:  

 

Candidates must possess a minimum of 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level and a minimum of four years of graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognised university OR have passed Sections A and B of the Associate Membership examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India, or have passed the Graduate Membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actuarial examination.

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}:

 

Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognised University OR cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

(aac) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
(aad) Mechanical Engineering.
(aae) Mechanical Engineering and Automation.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch

 

(aa) Administration:

Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

(ab) Education:

Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline.

 

NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)

NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate acquired on or after 01 Dec 17. Minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2. Graduates with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

Application Fee of AFCAT


After completing the online application form, the examination fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for AFCAT admission (not applicable for NCC special entry or meteorology) may be paid online via the 'Make Payment' step on the online application's main menu. No payment in cash, check, or demand draught (DD) will be allowed for the examination fee. The examination fee can be paid via the payment gateway using credit/debit cards or net banking.
