Delhi University Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages and Library Science
Eligibility (A or B):
A. 1)A Master's degree in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian university with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point–scale wherever the grading system is used) or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point–scale wherever the grading system is used). 2) A Ph.D. in the relevant topic from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university authorised by the Indian government. 3) In addition to meeting the aforesaid requirements, the candidate must have passed the UGC or CSIR's National Eligibility Test (NET) (exemption from NET shall be given in accordance with clauses (ii) and (iii) of the General Note in the last section of this document).
Or
B. The Ph.D. degree was achieved from a foreign university/institution that was ranked among the top 500 universities in the world at any point in time by any of the following: I Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), (ii) The Times Higher Education (THE), or (iii) Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Academic Ranking Of World Universities (ARWU) (Shanghai).
Management Studies
i) Essential:
1. Master's degree with distinction in business management/administration/a relevant management-related discipline, or with distinction in a two-year full-time PGDM certified equivalent by AIU/accredited by the AICTE/UGC. Alternatively, a graduate with a first class degree and a professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant/Cost and Works Accountant/Company Secretary of the relevant statutory authorities. 2. A doctoral degree in the relevant discipline from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university authorised by the Indian government.
3. Along with the aforementioned qualifications, the candidate must have passed the UGC's or CSIR's National Eligibility Test (NET) (exemption from NET shall be provided in accordance with clauses (ii) & (iii) of the General Note in the last section of this document). Or
The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign University/Institution with a ranking among top 500 in the world University ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) The Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) The Academic Ranking Of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
ii) Desirable:
i) Teaching, research, industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization;
ii) Papers presented at conferences and/or published in refereed journals
Music
Eligibility (A or B):

2. A doctoral degree in the relevant discipline from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university authorised by the Indian government.

B. A traditional or professional artist with exemplary professional accomplishments in the subject matter and a Bachelor's degree who possesses the following:
I received instruction from a renowned/respected traditional master(s)/artist (s)
ii) been an AIR/Doordarshan 'A' grade artist;
iii) the capacity to explain a subject through logical reasoning; and
iv) sufficient knowledge in the area in question to teach theory with illustrations
Education
a) A postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% in the field of specialty.
b) A postgraduate degree in education (M.Ed./M.A. Education) with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 55 percent.
c) A doctoral degree in the relevant discipline from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university authorised by the Indian government.
Other Criteria:
# Direct recruitment to the University's Assistant Professor positions will be conducted on the basis of merit through a national advertisement and selection by fully constituted Selection Committees.
# The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the minimum requirement for Assistant Professor appointments.
Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2016, and any subsequent amendments, as applicable, shall be exempt from the requirement of the NET minimum eligibility condition.
Furthermore, the award of degrees to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. course before to July 11, 2009, shall be controlled by the provisions of the Institutions conferring the degree's then-current Ordinances / Bye-laws / Regulations. All such Ph.D. applicants are excluded from the NET requirement for recruitment and appointment as Assistant Professors at the University if the following requirements are met:
a) The candidate's Ph.D. degree was awarded in the traditional manner; b) The candidate's Ph.D. thesis was approved by at least two external examiners; c) The candidate underwent an open Ph.D. viva voce; d) The candidate has published two research papers based on her/his Ph.D. work, at least one of which is in a refereed journal; e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on her/ The Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University involved must certify that these prerequisites have been met.
# Candidates in subjects for which NET has not been conducted are not required to clear NET.
