CSIR NEIST Jorhat Skill Development Training Program 2021
North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat, Assam, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, has been engaged in multidisciplinary research and development activities relevant to the country in general and the North Eastern Region in particular.
The "CSIR-Integrated Skill Initiative" is a nationwide skill development programme spearheaded by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and utilising the knowledge and infrastructure of various laboratories located around the country. CSIR-NEIST, the only CSIR R&D laboratory operating in NER, wants to arrange the following training programme as part of this endeavour.

# Basic training:
(a) Welding (20 seats)
(b) Fitting (20 seats)
(c) Plumbing (20 seats)
(d) Jacquard Weaving (40 seats)
(e) Assistant Electrician (10 seats)
(f) 2D & 3D AutoCAD drafting (Mechanical) (05 seats)
# Advanced training:
(a) CNC turning and machining (10 seats)
(b) Advanced Welding (20 seats)
(c) AI-Machine Learning (30 seats)
Criteria for Eligibility for the NEIST Jorhat Skill Development Program
Age Limit: 38 years (Relaxation as per govt. norms)
Educational Qualification:
Basic training:
# The minimum qualification for all courses is a class eight pass, with the following exceptions:
# For Assistant Electrician, the minimum qualification is a class ten pass.
# For 2D & 3D drafting using AutoCAD, the minimum qualification is a class ten pass / ITI pass / diploma pass.
# Female candidates will be favoured for weaving trade positions.
Advanced training:
# CNC: ITI passed as machinist/ turner, diploma in mechanical or allied subject
# Adv. welding: ITI passed for welding, diploma in mechanical or allied subject
# AI-ML: Must have Bachelor’s degree in any Science or Engineering discipline & the course will be in online mode
